Louise Braithwaite, known for her quirky vibrant naive painting, is based in Hampshire, England.
Louise studied Media and production design at London College of Printing and has been painting since 1998. Over the years she has developed a very recognisable style and has painted many commissions for public buildings and private clients.
Her paintings are predominately figurative and painted in oils on board. She aims to capture the underlying essence of a crowded scene or an individual person in a stylised and naive fashion. Her paintings have been described as “happy Lowrys”.
She sells her work widely throughout the uk in galleries and art fairs.

A Special Birthday
A commissioned picture makes a very personal and individual memento.
Louise’s unique style has led to numerous commissions, sold to customers all over the world, often as a special memory of England. The appeal of commissioning one of Louise’s paintings is that an individual or family can appear in the picture in a setting which is special to them. Louise has also painted several wedding scenes with all the guests appearing in their specific wedding attire.
Louise’s commissions can be any size but she usually uses the following formats: 28inch square (£2800) 20inch square (£2200) 28inch by 10inch (£1600) 14inch square (£1075) and 12inch by 10inch (£800). These prices include a hand painted Farrow & Ball frame or in natural oak.
Please contact Louise to chat about a specific commission.
